Combing

I find such peace in combing wool.
I like the earthy sheep-y smell.
I love how soft my fingers get from the lanolin.
I always laugh at myself when I have stabbed myself with the combs.
Those things are deadly!

Finished Afghan...

I originally posted...so long ago about starting a new afghan project.  I have completed it finally.  I had planned to do a large size, but didn't have enough yarn to finish the larger size.  It is very warm and fits over a lap just right.

Gluten free Dairy free Jalapeno rolls

I made these , but I have made them gluten and dairy free.
It takes longer of course.
I used Gluten Free Mama's Pizza crust mix for the base,
and Toffutti cream cheese instead of the dairy cream cheese.
I made up the pizza base and let it rise for  2hours so it really was puffy.
I also let the toffutti sit out to soften so it would spread on the soft dough easily.
They took about twice as long to bake, about 26 minutes as opposed to the 13 minutes
called for in the recipe instructions.
They were a hit at a BBQ where most of the people don't have diet restriction.

Egg Muffins

So yes I am on Pintrest and well I don't always do what I pin.
I did these Egg muffins
They were a great success and very well loved.  I did half with out cheese half without for us non dairy types. They were very puffy hot out of the oven.  After a few minutes of cooling they settled down. They were delicious no matter how they looked.

Fun Day at the Lake

Yesterday, both Boy Child and Girl Child participated in Fun Day on the Lake near us.
They had SO MUCH FUN!!
It was a fairly cool day at about 18degrees C, with wind now and again but the rain stayed in the clouds while we were there.
They were both soaked in a matter of minutes of the activities commencing. Girl Child only had to have one warming session to stave off hypothermia.  Boy Child wore a wool sweater and made his mama proud ;)  They club kept the hot chocolate and tea flowing for all the participants.
(: Now what you have been waiting for the pictures... :)
(I have put the same activities together, but they were in separate groups)
Boy Child at the front of the line waiting for his second go at crossing a line of capsized boats.
Girl Child leaping from boat to boat.

Setting out to gather floating balls.

Raft Building
assigning work to the big kids
Her group called their raft the Titanic,
and like it's namesake, she sank, here Girl Child is getting ready to abandon ship...
Boy Child's group was split between girl and boys.

 He was down again

 Coming back in.
Reaction!

With Girl Child, the driver asked how fast he should take it,
Dad said open it up and let her fly... She did, quite literally, but we missed getting the picture...
I think Dad was a bit nervous watching...
 Get ready!
 Get set!
She's ready ( if you click on the picture you will see she is giving a thumbs up)!
 Go!
Reaction and Contemplation...

Best Day Ever? Quite Possibly.
